Our grassroots creations

Discover how simple, local, and often free materials can be transformed into vital habitats for our local wildlife. At APM Grassroots, we believe small, easy changes can make a big difference in supporting biodiversity in Blackpool and beyond. Join us in making an impact.

Building homes for local birds

One of our favourite projects involves creating charming birdhouses from recycled wood and other locally sourced materials. These cosy dwellings provide safe, warm homes for our feathered friends, helping them thrive in urban environments. It’s a fun and rewarding activity for all ages, fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Fueling our wild neighbours

Another beloved initiative is our homemade fatball project. Using kitchen scraps and bird-friendly ingredients, we create nutritious treats that provide essential energy for birds, especially during colder months. It’s an incredibly simple and free way to ensure our local avian population stays healthy and strong, and a great activity for kids to learn about wildlife care.

Cultivating community and nature

Our projects are more than just crafts; they're about creating fun, free, and impactful ways to help the environment. We're building safe havens for creatures, helping kids learn about bugs and local wildlife in their own back gardens, and empowering our community to foster a richer ecosystem. We hope to bring about positive change in Blackpool's local area.
