Our roots: the APM Grassroots story
Welcome to APM Grassroots. We are a personal organisation based in Blackpool, UK, dedicated to addressing the critical issue of biodiversity decline. Our mission is to inspire sustainable change in our local environment, creating awareness and empowering our community to take action.

Inspired by the challenge
Our journey began as part of the APM Challenge for 2026, a significant initiative focused on biodiversity. We recognised the urgent need to create sustainable changes and make a tangible impact in our local Blackpool environment, especially as biodiversity continues its concerning decline. This challenge fuels our commitment to action.

Making a local impact
We hope APM Grassroots will make a significant difference by creating widespread awareness and understanding within the local Blackpool area. We want to highlight the severity of biodiversity decline and, more importantly, demonstrate how every individual can contribute and do their part to foster a healthier, more resilient ecosystem right here at home.

Get involved, make a difference
Encouraging community involvement is at the heart of what we do. We aim to achieve this by actively sharing local projects led by others, alongside showcasing our own in-house initiatives. Our goal is to foster a collaborative spirit, where everyone feels empowered to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of our shared natural world.
"Biodiversity is vital, and though it faces decline, every small improvement we make together contributes to a healthier, more sustainable Blackpool."
